RACO electric cylinders in automotive industry
RACO electric cylinders are used in all of the motor car industry’s manufacturing areas: ranging from scrap-bundling in the press works and adjusting tasks during car cassing, to transporting and fitting systems from the paint shop to final assembly.
Adjusting tasks for improving the ergonomics on fitters’ workplaces are also implemented with RACO electric cylinders, e.g., height adjustment on the carrier wagon or when pre-assembling doors, in order to provide an optimum working position for the operative.
Our many years of experience with electro-mechanical actuators and the high quality of our products enable us to satisfy the automotive industry’s high demands. The flexible RACO modular system enables us to deal with the customer’s requirements individually and to develop automated solutions that are reliable and economical for the customer with help from our competent applications engineers.
Benefits
- Long lasting operation through wear and tear resistant thrust unit components
- High reliability even under worth ambient conditions
- Full electromechanical principle without any leakage issue
- Fulfill actual safety and environmental requirements
- Does not consume energy when stopped
- High efficiency of the mechanical system generate high power output
- Easy to install and putting in operation
- Low operating and maintenance costs

Fields of application for RACO electrical cylinders
in the automotive industry
- Stoppers und single marshallers on ‘EHBs’
- Aligning stations and positioning on transport equipment
- Hoisting and lifting devices as well as elevating stations
- Inward and outward transfer stations on 'SKITTs' and thrust platforms
- Ergonomic height adjustments on the assembly line.
- Testing and inspecting devices in research, development and production (hardware in loop test stands), e.g., brake actuations on brake test stands for setting ESP parameters and on rolling test stands.
