Elektromechanical Actuators

Electromechanical actuators becoming more and more the preferred drive technology in the field of linear motion. That is because they can handle a wide range of payloads, provide the desired controlled motion and are cost competitive. The rotational movement produced by the electric motor will be converted into linear movement by trapezoidal thread spindles installed within the thrust unit as basic design.

Benefits

High efficiency of the mechanical system

Long lasting operation

Easy to install and putting in operation

High reliability even under worth ambient conditions

Full electromechanical principle without any leakage issue

Does not consume energy when stopped Low operating and maintenance costs

The Electromechanical Principle

The selection of spindle lead guarantees self locking for RACO´s electric actuators. Static loads, which can be higher than the nominal thrust, can be maintained in any intermediate position. Different leads for the acme screw or multiple trapezoidal thread spindles can be easily produced to have higher rod speeds.

Ball screw spindles can realize even higher shifting frequencies over a long life period, very high repeat accuracy and are very dynamic. Ball screw do not have the self-locking feature, so the cylinder will be equipped with an electro-magnetic brake that guarantees a hold in intermediate positions and movement into the preferred position very accurately.

Modular Design

Two design series of RACO´s electric actuators are available to fit your individual application needs:

Equipped with DC motors, AC motors, step motors or servo motors RACO´s electric actuators will provide the smart solution for each individual application. Even sensory equipment such as limit switches, rotary pulse generators, position transmitter for your specific requirements can be adapted onto the actuator.

Furthermore, we have the appropriate electronic components and software solutions for controlling the electric actuators by a RACO controller or a PLC system.
